Preheat the oven to broil.
Slice the ciabatta buns in half and lightly brush the insides with olive oil.
Lay face up on a baking sheet and put into the broiler for 2-4 minutes, or until the buns start to crisp.
Layer 1 tbsp (or more to taste) of pesto on each piece of bread.
On each bottom half, layer 4 slices of deli turkey, 2 slices of muenster cheese, a few slices of red onion and 2 slices of tomato.
Close the sandwich, cut in half, and serve immediately.
