Bring the cream cheese to room temperature. While cream cheese is warming, slice the salmon into bite size pieces and slice the cucumbers (if using). Follow with chopping the dill and chives (if using).
Lay the cocktail rye bread out, and layer cream cheese on each one. Add chives (if using) on top of cream cheese and then layer with cucumber slice (if using).
Add a piece of salmon and sprinkle with fresh dill.
