PREPARATION
1.
Preheat oven to 375 F for taco shells. Roughly chop the onion and saute in a dollop of oil over medium-high heat for a few minutes.
2.
Add ground beef and cook until browned.
3.
Drain any fat from the meat/onion mixture once browned.
4.
Add 1 clove minced garlic and saute briefly.
5.
Add 1 Tablespoon chili powder.
6.
Add dashes of cumin, oregano and black pepper.
7.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a couple Tablespoons of water. Let simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.
MAKING TACO SHELLS
8.
Warm up corn tortillas in the oven or microwave.
9.
Lightly brush with a neutral oil (or cooking spray) and drape over two oven rings for 10-12 minutes.
10.
Remove taco shells from oven and serve with diced tomatoes, chopped lettuce, shredded cheese and avocado.
NOTES, TIPS, TRICKS, HINTS, ETC:
Additional toppings include guacamole, black olives, sour cream, pico de gallo.
