PREPARATION
PREPARING THE SLIDER BUNS
1.
Follow the steps in the dependent recipe to prepare the slider buns.

Optional: you can top with sesame seeds and dried oats before baking to add some flavor and crunch.
PREPARING THE MARINADE

Whisk olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, dried basil, thyme, salt and pepper in a bowl until well combined.

Pour mixture over mushroom caps in a plastic bag or bowl and let them marinade for 2-3 minutes, or overnight (if you have time), flipping mushrooms over halfway through.
PREPARING THE MUSHROOMS

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.

Place mushrooms over grill pan or in skillet, gill side up first.
7.
Let cook for 5-10 minutes on each side.
ASSEMBLING THE SLIDERS

To the slider bun, add lettuce, the grilled mushroom, 1-2 slices of tomato, red onion slices, and drizzle with tzatziki sauce if using and sprinkle with fresh basil.
9.
Add the top of the slider bun and serve immediately.
