PREPARATION
MAKING THE RUB
1.
Follow the steps to make the dependent recipe (the rub). You'll need 1 TBSP of this rub for the standard yields of this recipe.
MAKING THE SAUCE

Combine all ingredients in a deep, non reactive saucepan and slowly bring to a simmer.
3.
Reduce heat to slow-simmer for about 20 minutes until thick and rich.
4.
Transfer to a clean jar and store in the fridge.
